More than just Chains with linky

Before I show the Scrappy Chain QAL progress, I’ll show a few things I’ve been working on.

This is the WOB BOW : Lydia, who sold purple cloth- the fabrics I have for this quilt don’t have any purple, but the blue was a purplish blue a bit and then I thought the clothing in the background was fitting.

I also finished this Christmas top, string blocks cut into HSTs, quite a process! but I like the result, I’m thinking of doing a scrappy backing, but then it might show thru, even thru the backing, so I don’t know…. my husband suggested I do the green for the binding, but I wanted it to flow out with a white binding again, so while I’m deciding, the quilt is just hanging Smile

I also made a wrapped back with some left over winter fabrics- not that you can tell!

20131253

Then the other day I got a catalog from connecting threads and I saw these tissue holders and downloaded the free pdf and made these two, I don’t have the tissues that go inside though….

gave one to my friend who’s a teacher and one I’ll give away to another teacher I think.

I have also finished the “funny diamonds” small quilt

20131256

I quilted zig zags following the diamond shapes, so it sort of looks like trapunto, but it’s not.

20131262

My little helper has been busy trying to design her own quilts too on the design wall

And climbing onto and into stuff!

and drinking STUFF!

This is daddy’s green “ultimate meal shake” he makes in the mornings and she loves it! (yuck)

Now remember how I made some kitchen towels to our friends in CA and the package for stolen!? they came to visit and I had one more set of towels, so I made them another set while they watched Smile

I’ve been busy using my embroidery machine, making these cute blocks.

12 days of Christmas from pixiesrule

the whole set is $1

Now I have a few ideas for WHAT to do with them

star blocks, but maybe more strings? or maybe I’m tired of strings? I don’t know…. and the red and greens would be random or scrappy.

One more thing with the embroidery machine, remember the tutorial Tuesday mug rugs? I made the blocks and tops for them, now I just need to quilt and finish them.

Here’s an updated picture of my studio btw, I changed the quilt on the wall, this is the yenter underwater quilt I designed and have the pattern for sale in my craftsy store.

  1. Your 12 days look fantastic! I can't wait to see the layout you decide on.

  2. You've certainly been busy enough lately. I started a new quilt and hope to have the top finished in a few weeks.
