I’m still working on catching up on color of the month scrappy blocks from last year
Here’s an orange and grey storm at sea block made with the Accuquilt BOB die
so far I have 9 blocks done
I’m leaning toward the first EQ idea below with the black and white, but my plan was 12 blocks and to have alternate light and dark grey backgrounds on each block but I don’t have any dark grey, well maybe scraps.
This layout is OK, maybe the sashing stars should be scrappy too?
Or I could just sew the blocks together and add a simple border
Or keep a simple sashing?? this is probably my least favorite idea
The next scrappy block I made is a chimney sweep block, here in brown and dark blue
I think I used canva to pick alternate colors for the blocks. now I have 10 blocks and I was looking in Solveig’s room and thought of a pattern I made for Accuquilt
This quilt is Solveig’s “headboard” quilt and I like the scrappy look of it, but the backgrounds are all the same so that might be tricky
This is the pattern I made for Accuquilt
So I quickly made 10 alternate blocks and I “tried” to sort of match the main blocks or have the same alternate colors in the blocks but after a while it didn’t work, so I just winged it.
It might turn out totally ugly, if so, then I’ll donate it.
I love scrappy quilts but I think the smaller the better when it comes to scraps.
Maybe that should be my next scrappy project? something teeny tiny?!
