I got an email the other day about fabrics for the quilt along.
OF COURSE you pick whatever fabrics YOU want.
Here’s the “original” design”
But just by using the random tool in EQ7 I got some different ideas- not all are pretty, but you get the idea 🙂
I wanted to show the progress of my VIEW being ruined from my studio window 🙁
BTW!! While I was looking for the PES basic “gadget” I decided to sort my batting scraps and quilt tops and match everything up with backing pieces etc. so I was looking for my batting TAPE- I knew or thought I knew where it was- in a metal bin I have with my “funky” rulers, well it wasn’t there but guess WHAT was there!? the PES basic!!! DUH!! I can be such a blonde sometimes…..
I did find the batting tape too BTW and now I’m out of it.
So while soring tops and batting I added a border to the spider web quilt, I like it much better now
I made lots of binding strips too and SONJA helped holding them for me 🙂
Here’s all the binding rolls, labeled and ready!
And here’s the quilts ready with backing and batting tucked in, I think I only have easy street missing batting and backing… that’s pretty good 🙂
I finished another AHHHH! this is #10
And here’s another #8
look how different it is compared to this other one I made earlier
I also got a package from Connecting threads this weekend!
here’s what I got

If you live near a petsmart or other large store the lizard litter is made from crushed shells.
There are several products at the "Petsmart" type stores, for a variety of animals, that are just crushed walnut shells. I think the one I have purchased was for birds. : )Your AHHHH blocks are incredible!
I love that you showed how different fabrics/colors will work with this pattern. BTW I too purchased my first bag at Petsmart, the Red one, Kaytee Bird litter. At $10.99 it has to be cheaper once you add in shipping.
Great that you found what you were hunting for. So sorry about the view. I felt the same way here but it does look like the roof is low enough that it won't totally ruin it.
I know how you feel about your view. They've put up 8 houses behind us since we've been here.It blocks 1/2 our fabulous back porch skyline view:(
