More embroidering

I’ve been using the Embroidery machine a lot lately!

I remembered I had this snowflake file on the computer and decided to make a few. first I hooped 2 layers of WSS (water soluble stabilizer) but it would fall apart a little like this, though it didn’t damage it, just not very SAFE. the last one I did 3 layers, which is a LOT and that stuff is not really cheap!

and look it’s 22 min and over 15000 stitches, not really worth it to sell!

oh well…. I have a few, and we’ll see, otherwise I’ll keep them.

Of course I made more eyeglass cases too

Then I got these SLIPPER files from embroidershoppe.com

My first slipper fell off the hoop and my 6 needle machine is very tight, so the slipper top was too high and the force of the machine when the needle moved, pushed it off the hoop!

I was able to rip out the row and tape everything down instead like this.

and VOILA! a pair of 2yr old slippers for You know who !?

with anti-slip fabric on the bottom (should have done the swirl in white thread, as that’s the only bobbin thread I have)

they look good on “someone’s” feet

I also got more fiber fill and made bigger owls

here is the machine midway on a body- doing the eyes

the smallest fit in a 4” hoop- it’s tiny!

not much taller than a spool of thread

so is the mini mouse

here’s the BIG owl in black and white and red eyes.

I even made a NEST for it- a fabric wrapped corded basket.

I made another mini owl but stuffed it with walnut shells as a pincushion, but I’d be sad to poke this little one!- but wait I did that with my other owls I made years ago!!??

Here’s the collection so far.

Our neighbors saw these over the weekend and wanted an owl for their 9m old daughter Maya

Originally they had wanted the left one but then when I said I could just make another one with her name on it, they picked that! (they also bought a bunch of eyeglass cases btw)

and guess what!? I bought the bear file, it’s nice a “neutral” for either gender.

These are the 8 x 12” hooped bears, first I did the Pooh one on the left and I don’t like it that much- oh well, now Sonja adopted the green one and sings TWINKLE TWINKLE little star to it

These are the 7 x 11 bears, I kind of like the arms UP like this, looks odd in the picture but in person they are nicer.

Even though they are totally different than the pictures from dolls and daydreams, they are cute in their own way

notice the right black one? well I wasn’t paying attention to the machine and forgot to trim the white felt for the nose and it stitched on top of it, so I figured I could just trim around it, looks kind of cute!

so not all mistakes are bad!

As soon as I finished sewing the one with the blue belly together, Sonja took it to compare stars!

I was playing around with containers and how to display things, I think this looks better for the eyeglass cases ( just need to make more I guess to fill it up)

and this was a baby bassinet that I’ve lately only used for Sonja’s toys, I raised up the back a little, maybe I should life the front some more too.

I have my business card tied around each one with string and on the back it has info that it’s made using dolls and daydreams patterns and then the prices.

I’m starting a batch of pincushions now

– not too many, as they are very specific to sewers/quilters, so I don’t think they will sell well, but worth a try!
