Mini QUBE topper, just because

This is what happened when I was bored one day and wanted to do something quick!

I looked in EQ and my little book of blocks from Accuquilt and I found one block I haven’t done yet and came up with this design.

My idea was to use a few FQs so I kept the block small (8”) so that the borders could also be cut from a FQ!

I had these fabrics leftover from the snowball quilt I made for Accuquilt

(They weren’t FQs, so there goes THAT idea) but I still went with it and cut out pieces using dies #2 and #14

I cut out (8) each of red and blue of #2

then 4r +4w in white and another red.

and then the borders in red and blue using the 1 1/2” and 2 1/2” strip dies

Then I sewed the pieces together like this

and made four patches like this

and then block sections like this

and lastly 2 blocks like this

and then the top got done in no time!

Easy peasy! and here it is all finished!

I had just enough for the back and binding

  1. Pretty blocks! I was a longarm quilter until I sold my machine a few years ago. I keep busy with crafts and sewing and am enjoying scrapping these days.
