This week’s potholders are made with the crossed canoe die from Accuquilt
It makes a great 9″ finished block!
(I made a pattern for them using this die and it’s such a fun die!)
At first I got out 2 Fat quarters and ironed them and folded them in half twice
Then I cut out 4 sets of each like this
I quickly sewed them together like this
and then the opposite blocks like this (2 of them), a fun and easy block with the GO dies!
I think it would be hard to get accurate rotary cut!!
I used another FQ and cut it into pieces and layered first regular batting, then insulbright, then backing and the quilt block on top right side down AND I had made hanging tags too for both blocks
Then I stitched around the edge 1/4″ leaving an opening at the bottom and then trimmed the block and batting down
turn right side out and ironed flat and then top stitched to close the hole I left for turning inside out!
Such a simple set of potholders to make!
try it out!
I think I need to get some Insulbright and make some new potholders.
What a fun block! I can see how cutting this without the die would be a real pain.
