May’s MMF project

The country is still on lockdown and especially in NY which is where Michael Miller Fabrics is headquartered, as ambassadors for them, we were supposed to get another shipment of fabric for the 2nd quarter (I was lucky I had placed an “order” with them for fabrics for some secret projects for Accuquilt, so I also got a few of the quarterly fabrics) But this month’s project is from the first box we got with lots of goodies.

I used the pile on the left which is their “fairy frost” collection

It’s GORGEOUS! one of those fabric lines you just want to pet and stay pretty in it’s little bundle! with silver or gold flecks and SO soft…. it was hard to wash!

With this bundle I decided to use my “Night Sky” pattern

which is a Fat Quarter friendly pattern and comes in two sizes 46″ x 56″ or 56″ x 66″

I used Accuquilt dies as much as possible

Then I appliqued the circles in the middle and made the star blocks

and added the outer block borders

and sewed the top together and added border blocks

I actually had all this done in early February and then requested fabrics for the backing and binding, but I only got the binding fabric- so I used my stash for the back.

I quilted with a loopy edge to edge design on my juki and had chosen a pastel peachy fabric for the binding

Here’s a picture of the back

I do still have the solid FQ stack that came in the original box, though I almost used some pieces for masks, but didn’t want to break up the pretty pile as I don’t have a plan for it yet and didn’t want to run short on FQs….

again if you want to buy my pattern I have it listed here
