Mariner’s Compass table runner

Did you see the new Mariner’s compass die for Accuquilt?

I hope they get more in, but on release day they sold out! CRAZY!

I did get to play with this die and made a table runner for them

I designed this in EQ first

Here are the fabrics I used

Cutting out the pieces with the die and the 8″ QUBE set to make the alternate blocks

sewing the pieces together went smoothly and quickly

Soon I had the side blocks done and nice wedges for the mariner’s compass block

unlike the courtyard die, here the border gets added in sections and there’s no Y seams at all!

when appliqueing the middle circle I added a scrap on the back too so I could fuse to that and stitch on that.

and quickly the top was done!

I long arm quilted a design called “finesse”

a fun and quick runner with the mariner’s compass die!!

  1. I love this die – I ordered it from the webinar special, which I watched and I hope I am lucky enough for my order to be filled! As I become more experienced with my GO cutter, I wonder how I ever got along without it! I am also an art quilter, so my projects are really varied. I love seeing what you do with the dies and fabrics!

  2. Beautiful table runner. I also ordered this die during the intro webinar. I think it is going to be a very popular die. The mariners’ compass block is so lovely, yet a challenge to cut out with templates the die certainly makes it easier to cut & sew.
