Magnolia Bud Table topper is done

I got to play with a somewhat new die from Accuquilt

The Magnolia Bud die

When I find out about new Accuquilt dies, I always start in EQ8! I submitted this idea to them but they didn’t pick it.

So instead I made my “own” thing and picked yellow and grey and white. Not your traditional flower fabrics, definitely not the leaf part, but Hey, I’m not the quilt police so I don’t care, I like this combination!

The die has all the different shapes on the board, it’s called a BLOCK ON BOARD die or BOB die for short, so it’s easy to cut WOF strips and fanfold and cut out what you need! I always mark with a sharpie what the WOF should be or if it has to be rectangles or right side up or how many I get per WOF usually.

Here’s all the pieces cut out, I love that Accuquilt dies cut off the dog ears on triangles or odd shapes, so the fabrics line up perfectly!

Quickly I had the 4 blocks done

Then I added the sashing

and borders and quilted it and added the dark grey as binding.

The quilt measures 22″ x 22″

I quilted a rather dense design on it, which I like doing on small quilts.

I used pale yellow thread for the quilting

Dear Bea, I have been seeing your “reels” on Facebook. Puts a smile on my face. Can this Magnolia Bud BOB be made using a combination of Qube dies? I have a lot of qubes.
    Thanks, Shelly
