The other day I went to walmart to get a few gifts for the kids (mostly clothes) as most of the FUN toys, we buy on amazon….
Carol at funthreads posted the other day about some towels she embroidered- with an adorable snowflake design WHICH I got on a pin cushion from her BTW…
So I also got some towels at walmart
She also told me about embroiderydesigns.com
and of course I looked for owls, and found this CUTE one!
stitched it out on yellow fabric first
I got a set of brown towels and a set of blue
This was the first time I sprayed a towel down and used the water soluble as a topper…… nerve wrecking, but it turned out great!!
Here it’s drying on my sink
So of course I HAD to stitch out the other ones too, here they are hanging to dry
The owl towels I put to use right away!
I did all 8 towels yesterday
I have no idea where I got this angel from, now on the striped towel the eyes ended up right on the stripe, so kind of odd looking, oh well…
I’m sending them to my mom, she’ll love them regardless! HA HA
This morning I got BRAVE and tried one of my daughter’s shirts, as it’s been sitting next to the machine for a while and soon she’ll out grow it!
a VERY dense design, but it’s cute and on a KNIT shirt it was tricky to hoop but I’m happy with the result!
So what did Sonja do while I embroidered yesterday??
She found the bin with the bonnie hunter mystery blocks and decided to SIT on them and sort them
Didn’t she do a GREAT job??
Here’s another block idea for it….. we’ll see what it will REALLY look like later….
While the machine was working yesterday I did sew a little! the persian star blocks are sewn together and I machine appliqued the block in the middle.
AND I got fabrics in the mail!!
Black friday I shopped on Connecting threads and the box finally arrived!!
uhhh yummy goodies! The blues I was thinking of KEEPING for another round of the women of the bible quilt!
we’ll see
The reds and fruit ones in the middle, I have no plans for.
I did get two mirage strip sets too and 4yds of white so I can do some machine embroidery with the prayer garden set I won earlier this year
OH, and the pile to the left are fabrics for a quilt for McCall’s!!
aren’t these just yummy??
also stay tunes for a BIG announcement, a Challenge QAL for 2014!!!
Your towels are lovely. I also have an embroidery machine and I'm enjoying it as much as you are. The possibilities are endless! I always look forward to your posts. Thanks for sharing.
The designs look perfect on the towels, I was wondering how the embroidery would work on a knit shirt….looks cute! Sonja is just doing a little PRESSING for you 🙂
Your embroidery looks great. Good job.
Your embroidery looks great. Good job.
Your towels turned out great. I use the water soluble on top and it makes all the difference in how the towels turn out. My package from Connecting Threads black friday sale is on its way. I love getting packages full of fabric from them.
Cute embroidery. I'm glad that you are having fun with that machine.
