Lots of cutting going on

Do you ever have one of those days where you just want to CUT fabric??

The other day I was looking into making another mindless leader and ender project to work on between projects- we’ll see how long it lasts…

So I flipped thru this scrap quilt book and had this one marked a while ago

You can see my EQ tutorial here about the design process

Of course I used Accuquilt dies!

I cut away with dies #6 for the middle, then #5, then #4 and finally #3 for the outer triangles, it wasn’t until I started cutting the black that the math in my head and EQ didn’t match up at all!! then I realized I had cut it all with the 8″ QUBE instead of the 6″ QUBE…… so the quilt will be really BIG now….. oh well!! It was really only about a yard extra black, the rest were scraps, so not a big deal at all- and my grey bin is only half filled now!!

I already sewed quite a bit! fun fun!!

before I started I cleaned out my sewing machine and found another dust bunny! those little buggers are breeding in there!!

In a few weeks I’m teaching a beginner quilt class at our church, so I figured I’d cut some “kits” too for that and give the quilts to pregnancy support center(s) here’s something I quickly drew in EQ and cut with the 12″ QUBE set

And another boy quilt that’s a different version of my “when pigs fly” quilt pattern- without the pigs and when I showed on FB there were requests for a pattern, so I’m having that “tested” while I also work on this.

and why not cut more? I had these batiks from Island Batik in a bin with the pattern Underwater Stars and I cut out pieces to make a smalll 44″ baby quilt with it

and I also had this bundle of “fairy frost” from Michael Miller and figured I’d cut out a kit for my “night sky” pattern, the cover picture is not very good, I think new bright colors would look great!!

I already appliqued 20 circles on the center blocks too!

And started sewing the underwater stars quilt too!

I got some goodies in the mail too! more patterns!!

and sew iron on and sew on labels with my little bee on there, so cute!!
