Long arm quilting a customer quilt

I recently got an email from a lady down the road from me, if I had time to long arm quilt for her- didn’t really know she quilted, I knew she sewed, so of course I had time for it!

BTW our neighborhood is named after her and her husband because they own property near by- like I said down the road- don’t think the builder ever ASKED them if they could name the neighborhood after them, really it’s the name of the street, which the town just named after them without asking too! – Long story…..

So she brought over this quilt last Friday and I quilted it Saturday 🙂

I used a quilt design called ginger hearts and she wanted it NOT dense, so I set the design to 9 or 10″ and quilted it in bright yellow thread.

The backing was mostly this African print (actually the fabric IS African, but there wasn’t quite enough so she added black all the way around, that’s always tricky to try and line up perfectly, but I think it ended up fine, it was around 1/2″ over the seam all the way around.

She was very happy to pick it up Saturday, that I had done it so quickly 🙂

  1. The big loopy stitches go fast for me too. It looks great with yellow thread. WOW on that fabric backing. I haven’t seen that one until today. Nicely done! Another satisfied customer. 🙂
