Little Twister quilt

I told you I would start a new project! he he

So I figured I’d make a lil’ twister quilt

I played a little in EQ first and figured out how many squares I needed and also figured that I’d add some white for some squares and the border.

So I cut out 5″ squares here

sewed them all together and added a white border- it’s actually a slightly different white, so you CAN see the difference between the white squares and the border

This morning (mostly yesterday though) I finished the twister quilt top

I think it turned out really cute!! but -oh boy!- cutting those little squares out took time and was tedious! but I love the result!

here’s a close up of the fabrics, it was fun because one fabric was a stripe, so I had wondered how that would look and it just turned it at an angle and the same angle on all the parts.

Now I just ordered some more of the dark blue for a skinny border and binding and some of the blue floral on white for a larger border, I think that will be cute!

I need to start quilting this NEXT stitch star quilt, now that it’s on the frame, I’m kind of scared to do it, wonder why?? partly because it’s for a competition but it’s also kaleidoscope blocks and I know all those intersecting seams are hard to quilt over, may need JACK the ripper’s help a few times 🙂

here’s another update on my 2012 list

  4. Super fin twister layout, Bea! Købte linealer i Chicago i December, så den ligger og kalder på mig 🙂 spændende at have en så dygtig landsmand i quiltens hjemland!
