The last block to show for inspiration is the Chimney Sweep block, it’s an “oldie but goodie”
and no way, would I try to rotary cut this because the block construction is on an angle.
I’ve made lots of quilts with this die, the blocks finish 10″
Here’s an old M&Ms table runner
and a scrappy grey and yellow quilt with no rule about the grey shade
Then a simple red white and blue table runner
and this quilt that’s still hanging in Solveig’s room with alternate 10″ QUBE blocks
It was a scrappy version of this quilt I made for Accuquilt
Now the scrap blocks I made this month
Light blue and orange
then turquoise and yellow
and so far I have 7 blocks made, the rule was to use the same fabric and then use CANVA to find the complimentary color, oddly enough I ended up with a lot of blues and orange/pink
a simple layout might look like this 34″ x 44″
If I add a chunky sashing it might look like this
and in a different UGLY mustard color…..
I think a skinnier sashing is better
with or without cornerstones
which version do you like most?
I have made it rotary cut, and it’s perfect for roll-ups. This would be easy, too. I like the first chunky with cornerstones the best. Solveig’s is colorful and gorgeous set with the other block, too.
For those of us that don’t have a machine to cut it, did I miss the rotary cutting instruction?
These were just sampler blocks for color of the month, I made with the die, rotary cutting would be tricky since the block is at an angle, I’m sure there are some directions online or a pattern somewhere online.
