Last day of school, teacher gifts

My kids asked me to make portfolios for the teachers this year, and after asking them what their favorite colors are, both teachers replied purple.

So I picked these purple floral pastel fabrics.

We had to go get some more note pads and now we could only get them in yellow, then my son also said they use these specific mechanical pencils so we got some of those too.

The kids wrote a note to the teachers and added some goodies too.

Now school is out at 3pm (was supposed to be half a day but because of snow days they added the half day among others)

Got any plans for the summer?

  1. Those are great gifts for teachers! Summer plans-enjoy the beautiful outdoors a lot!! But some quilting thrown in there too 🙂

  2. Cute little gift. That reminds me I need to make a little pocket folder for my new weight watchers stuff. Summer plans….teaching lots of sewing camps:)

  3. This is such a thoughtful gift. I used to be a teacher and in England most of the presents are flowers and chocolates, so I would have loved to receive something original like this. x

  4. Such a nice gift for a teacher. I like that the kids wrote a little message. That is what I treasured the most from a child or parent–a positive note to end the year.

These are gorgeous Bea, how about a tutorial? I'd LOVE to have a go at them.
