Yesterday in the mail I got some goodies from Kaufman.

as I’m about to make two more quilts for McCall’s they sent me these to pick from.
DROOL!!!
Now I wanted to make one quilt in Kona solids in 12 colors of the rainbow.
WHO can pick just 12 from 243 Kona solids???
Didn’t know it would be that hard…. I just drooled over these colors.
Who knew little things like that could excite me this much…
On the left are quilters linen and Fresco on the right- didn’t pick from those

Once I opened it up, these were inside, wow! more drool.
All these are glued down in skinny strips, but I can still drool 🙂
I picked my fabrics last night and ordered what I needed for the two quilts.
Tuesday we had our monthly neighborhood get together at my house, I had to clean up the table, so here’s a BEFORE picture (Oh, and I wongot some dotted FQs from the Dot blog hop)
Here’s AFTER, I removed everything!- sewing machine, embroidery machine, laptop, tool caddy etc.
We ended up being 8 people.
Yesterday I finally got around to quilting my neighbor’s wall hanging, because it was a panel, I wasn’t sure if I should do custom work or all over pattern, in tan (mother goose) thread or black.
We decided on an all over pattern in black
My loopy swirly pattern again, actually looked great on there.
I was afraif of the panel, how it would look, but it looked good there too.

Yesterday I also prepared another block for the Hidden Forest quilt
And someone is smiling! wearing a knitted sweater from my best friend in Denmark 🙂

Last night I started going back into my old files and changing the layouts and colors to be for a small baby boy, just to get ideas, I kept the width around 40″ so you only need one WOF for the backing.

So I dug into another file I had and changed the layout and colors
here a twisted log cabin- I was thinking scrappy with each section on one block be the same fabric but only once on the quilt.
I found this tree file, so I played a little with that too
changed the borders.
Would any of you want to have “regular” EQ tutorials here? maybe weekly?
feel free to suggest certain things.
Let me know, because if I don’t get any feedback, then I won’t do it 🙂
I’m off to cut batting- a big roll of warm and natural arrived yesterday!
and backing fabrics for my older tops should arrive tomorrow!
I don't know anything about EQ, except that it's expensive. I do love that last tree quilt…is that a paper pieced block? can you share a tutorial on that?!?!? =)
I'm on a Mac so I can't use EQ, but you have WAY too much fun with it, girl. Some great ideas here! : )

Holy cow you were busy!! I would have a hard time choosing 12 of 243 fabrics too!! Heck half the time I don't choose, and ta da – I need more space LOL

I would love it. I do have version 5 but I'm sure a lot of what you do is very similar. I just haven't taken the time to learn it.
Darn, I have a Mac also, so no EQ! Maybe I should get a cheap laptop so I could join the fun.
I would drool too with all those options and sicne I love rainbow themed things as you well know I'll be anxious to see what you come up with.
Isn't EQ great for playing around with design without the costly commitment of fabric purchase? My 8 year old grandson and I have been tweaking his quilt, "Spikey Death Trap," (don't ask) for several months now. I think he's finally satisfied that this will be the uberquilt for his generation. Thankk you, EQ!

I would love to learn some new tricks and get better at using EQ. I design in EQ7. Mainly applique at the moment but would love to play with patchwork more too.
