I actually finished the “stitch star” quilt but can’t show you 🙁
I didn’t realize that digital emailed pictures are not accepted, they want 8 x 10 pictures mailed it, so I had to order those really quick at costco.com and my husband will pick them up!
I will show you these fun layouts from EQ.
Electric Quilt has montly challenges here
they write a “theme” and maybe a few hints on how to do it and show a few samples and anyone with EQ6 or 7 can participate.
This month it’s the block MERGE tool, which I think is new in EQ7
Once you send in your EQ file, at the end of the month you get a copy of everyone elses files. I think it’s great and inspiring and you can go in a really pick it apart and see how they did the blocks or layouts etc.
Now it was hard for me to just limit it to 2 layouts!
here’s my ideas
this was an attic window merged with a maltese cross / kaleidoscope block
I like this layout better, I flipped every other row to point down and removed the sashing and altered the colors slightly.
a four patch merged with.. hmm, can’t remember the name now, and a nine patch merged with diamond in a square block. You know I love BLUES!!
A drunk in a window! ha ha
drunkard’s path merged with attic window, for some reason I thought of christmas colors when I was about to color it
stars and stripes!
8 pointed star merged with diamond in a square block and a diamond in a square merged with a pinwheel variation block
then I mirror imaged the pinwheel blocks on every other row and saw this ribbon effect and colored it in, then decided on red white and blue colors.
this is the same block as #2 the four patch inside another block but it’s a baby block setting on EQ, isn’t that fun?
and the maltese cross and attic window block in the same setting, also a cool look!
nine patch in a diamond in a square block also in the baby block setting.
and going back to the drunk in the window and plain drunkard’s patch block, it looks like hearts!
I removed the blocks at the top and bottom rows and just colored them red
