It’s finally time to start the Jumbled QAL!
It’s based on the QUBE sets from Accuquilt including the companion sets and the drunkard’s path dies that was part of the old companion sets, though if you don’t have the dies, the pattern provides rotary cutting AND templates (and of course die cutting directions)
The quilt can be made in 3 sizes using the 6″, 8″ or 12″ QUBE sets (6″ ,8″ or 12″ blocks)
Finished sizes: 45” x 57”, 60” x 76”, 90” x 114”

You don’t have to follow my colors or even use yardage, I did mine pretty much all scrappy, except for the pink solid, the black and white are scraps but they are solid scraps so it’s hard to tell on the pictures that they are different fabrics.
The grey and blue are also scraps and “stick” out more.
I used the 8″ QUBE for my quilt BTW.
We’ll be doing the blocks in order as the pattern shows which is from smallest to largest and also kind of easiest to hardest.
Block #1 is easy! just 6 large HSTs in blue and white and shape #3
If you’re using yardage for a fabric, I do think you should cut out ALL of that shape at once and put aside, so here it’s die #3, cut all the white and blue needed for that. (40 white and 16 blue) I used scraps so I cut as I went along…
Remember to always press the seams OPEN!
It’s up to you if you want to keep the 6 blocks separate or sew them together into 4 and 2

Good luck with the QAL. I was going to sew along, but realized I already have two other QAL I’m starting this week. I don’t want to over-extend myself.
You say if you have “the old champion set of dies” otherwise use the rotary instructions…… how are we to know? I am assuming if I just purchased mine is not a old set.
The old companion set was just called “companion” I think, then AQ reworked the set and made two, the angles and corners sets. they don’t sell the old sets anymore, so that note was for people if they had the old set and added on the bowtie dies so it matches the new set, otherwise you can buy the 4″ drunkard’s path set that would match up with the 8″ qube set or just use templates from the pattern or other plastic templates you might have around?
