I’ve made these before and I think I’ve shown how to make them too, but if I haven’t, here’s a quick tutorial on making nursing pads!
A friend requested these as I’ve made them for her before- but I don’t think I’ll charge her for them and I’m going to send her a quilt too- already picked out the quilt.
I used the circle die from Accuquilt and used the 5″ circle to cut out 6 sets of 4 fabric circles and 4 batting circles (my GO big can cut out 4 layers of batting at a time!
Then I pressed each fabric circle in half and then into quarters, just to find the center point.
I unfolded into just half circles and from the center point and out I stitched an inset seam (like you do with garment sewing)
That does make the circles a tiny bit smaller so I laid a fabric circle on top of one layer of batting and trimmed away the extra batting
Then I matches up the fabrics into 2 sets of two and with the batting in between and fabrics on the outsides wrong sides together, so fabric right side DOWN, 2 layers of batting and fabric right side UP x 2 sets, (and the insets on opposite sides of the circle) I then pinned them.
and then zigzagged around the perimeter once on each side to make sure I got all the raw edges.
Easy peasy!
