When Carol posted this blog hop I signed up right away and then I got stumped! usually I always make my project early but this time I was stumped and didn’t finish it until last week- which is late for me!
Again I didn’t know what I was making until one day I wanted to make a scrap quilt and have something mindless to sew between projects, so I thought of my favorite Accuquilt die (Apart from the QUBE sets)- the pineapple die
And I picked Grey, turquoise and dark blue.
I posted a few pics on IG, I wasn’t sure about the greys as I didn’t care if they were dark or light grey, my scrap bin is just GREY!
and then I got hooked- which often happens with me, I just can’t put it down!
I can’t lazily sew on it for weeks, no! Once I got started it quickly became my main project and my other main project became my side project.
And quickly I had the blocks made!
and I laid out the blocks on my design wall
Then I sewed them together
and added a border- which was dependent on what yardage I had on hand!
And I quilted it and added a black print binding
The quilt measures 50″ x 60″ so a nice lap quilt!
I quilted a design called “scrollwork” in turquoise thread
For the back I used some yardage I had on hand that was a turquoise print
Here’s a closeup of the scrollwork quilting on the back
If you haven’t been to my site in a while, I recently revamped it and this week to celebrate I’m offering all my patterns at 20% off just enter code newsite at checkout.
I think the variety of greys adds to the top.
I love the look of the pineapple block. The colors are great and definitely work for this blog hop. Thanks for sharing!
I love your quilt! Great colors and the pineapple is a favorite of mine.
The pineapple block in the grays and blues make a great “manly” quilt!! I love how it turned out, Bea!
Gorgeous quilt!
Very nice!
thanks the pineapple die is so fun and easy!
Beautiful quilt !
thanks!
Great combo of colors. It’s funny how things always work out as they are supposed to, even when we doubt it in the beginning! LOL!!
This is a gorgeous quilt, Bea! I love the combo of fabrics with the gray in it. You are amazing with your Accuquilt dies and use them to make some beautiful quilts. Thanks for sharing!
Very nice quilt, Bea, manly yet cheerful and bright with the blues. I also love the pineapple design–good choice! This may be my favorite of all the “guy thing” quilts so far!!!
The perfect quilt for a guy to snuggle under. Love the colour scheme you went with.
thanks, I hope so 🙂
Love the colors. Great quilt for any guy for sure.
this is lovely. thanks for sharing today
It always amazes me when the design hits and everything just flows, this quilt is really pretty! I have yet to make a pineapple block in this style, so far I’ve only made the realistic pineapple block. But these colors speak to me and I feel inspired!
aww thanks, I just went for it and if it didn’t work out, I’d donate it, that’s always how I look at trying new things in quilting. I made an orange quilt with the same sort of layout earlier in the year.
What a great quilt and the colors are perfect for a guy. It’s really striking.
Nice quilt!
Thank you for sharing your process. I love this quilt. It’s a scrappy beauty for sure!!
thanks, it was a fun experiment
Sew fun watching your nothing project grow into a wonderful quilt. Your quilting choice was perfect against all the straight lines. Thanks.
Gorgeous! Love the colors and design! xx
This is really cool. Love all the scrappy blues and grays. I have been eyeing that die, this post is making me want to go ahead put it in my shopping cart!

Awesome finish! I don’t take full advantage of my Accuquilt GO. This post may instigate some new die purchases — thanks for the inspiration!
