I signed up for this blog hop and thought I had my plan all ready to go and EARLY, but I’ve never been down to the wire, like I was with this one!
I had my idea early enough
and cut out pieces early
and made the quilt top early
even made the backing early!
and I EVEN put it on my frame early, ready to quilt!
but that’s when it stopped, it was there for over a week!! That’s not like me!!
But life happened, We were at the beach last weekend, my son was home from college, my older daughter I’m driving to and from school (community college) and the younger two I’m homeschooling every day until at least lunch time and I’m also checking in on my in-laws and driving them to places. I’m not complaining at all, I had just gotten used to being at home so much and now it seems I’m out and about and busy all the time but that’s a good thing, right?
So anyways, here’s my fall quilt. Recognize the pattern??
It’s my “honor a veteran” quilt pattern! Normally it’s in Patriotic colors- red, white and blue but this time I figured I’d have fun and make it in fall colors and then I added a few borders too-whatever I had leftover in the brown, and some orange and green yardage. Of course I used Accuquilt dies, mine is made with the 8″ QUBE and companion set, but you can really get the pattern and use any qube size you want, the finished size will just be different.
see the difference?
From today and until Friday, the pattern is on sale for $6!
Fitting the fall theme I quilted large pumpkins all over it in orange thread.
I usually don’t have much brown or orange fabrics in my stash, so for the backing I pieced it out of several fabrics.
Here you can really see the pumpkins!
Thanks to Joan for hosting such a fun blog hop!

In spite of life getting in the way your finish is wonderful. Absolutely amazing what a difference color makes. Love your choice of quilt design, perfect for this hop.
Beautiful quilt. I love when a quilt design works well in multiple colorways and this pattern is perfect. I adore the quilting! I love pumpkins. Thank you for sharing!
I love your colors. The background was a nice change from the traditional oranges and browns. Backing looks great too and the quilting is just perfect!
Awesome quilt. How fun to make a previous quilt in a different colorway/theme. It turned out lovely, and your quilting is fabulous.
Beautiful quilt, in both color schemes!
That pattern turned out great in Autumn colors, Bea! Sorry to hear that life got in the way of your quilting. It happens, though, doesn’t it?
It’s so much fun to see patterns done in completely different color ways! Your autumn pallet warms my heart! It was great to see you back hoppin with us!
Family comes first, but it was really nice to see that you finished it and shared. You never disappoint with your creations! I love how both quilts look in the different fabrics…so amazing. Sounds like it was a beautiful time with family and I’m glad you got to spend that time together. xo
Beautiful! Love the colors.
Beautiful quilt! I know what you mean, life got away from me this week too! Thanks so much for sharing!
Great quilt! Love the quilting pattern!
You are a very busy gal … thanks for taking the time to share!
Gorgeous Autumn colours in your new quilt and yes, after being home so much, I completely understand how busy we feel after the lull of lockdown.
Cute quilt; I really like the fall colors. Perfect quilting design, too.
Everything about your quilt is beautiful, including those colors and fabrics.
Beautiful quilt! I love the colors and the quilting!
Very nice! The autumn colors look totally different from your original patriotic quilt, and both are really pretty.
Wow, the colorway in fall colors really is a totally different quilt. Love it!
