I’ll join Bloggers Quilt festival when I can’t go to houston

How I missed signing up for this earlier, I don’t know…. But it’s open access, so I’m jumping on it.

Who needs Houston anyways!! – totally jealous 🙂

If you’ve followed my blog since before July, You’d know I got published for the first time in McCalls! yippee.

This is the quilt! “It’s a Hootie”

This was the EQ sketch I sent them.

As you can see I changed the border color and then had the eyes look in different directions.

Fabrics are from Timeless Treasures, and the green was just really NICE, so I chose that instead of blue.

Stats:

It’s an appliqued quilt

It’s a wall hanging or baby quilt

Measures 46″ x 46″

Long arm quilted on my long arm.

I also made these matching pot holders 🙂

Here’s the magazine, in case you missed it. It’s sept/oct issue, might still be for sale

I squealed when I saw the magazine and my quilt in it!

I thought it was going to be in quick quilts instead, so I didn’t expect it in this one, so I had sat down and flipped thru the pages and THERE it was…

I can’t remember if I showed these pics too, but I took a few while making this quilt, here’s the blocks just ironed together, then I button hole stitched all the way around

Here’s the blocks laid out

a few closeups of the owls

and the pot holders again 🙂

The whole top finished- before quilting

The quilt is done being quilted

On the main part I quilted feathers and swirls

I just outlined the owls, otherwise left them alone

I also changed the thread color, here you can see it on the back

Here it’s all done and ready to send off.

Happy festival 🙂
