I finally finished this quilt “Ice Balls of Fire”
it’s bound and ready and has a hanging sleeve on the back.
On the 1st I’ll be dropping it off at “Frank’s gallery” in Chapel hill, NC as part of the Chatham Artist Studio Tour, each artist has to drop off an item to show there and there will be a reception later.
-I feel all “fancy” being an “ARTIST” oh my
I decided to just do an allover pointed swirl quilting design
you can see it better on the back….. This is the quilt that has been the longest on my UFO list I think, so glad it’s finally done!
Another thing I’ve been doing to get ready for the studio tour, is to go thru my quilts and make missing labels for them.
Remember my Nancy drew quilt from the sewwequilt blog hop??
I found a magnifying glass in EQ and just HAD to embroider it on a label.
My husband has also helped me, he installed high hats above my long arm machine and above my table as I only had the fan light before, it’s SO much brighter now.
The other day I had a customer come over to look at my quilts and it gave me a “dry run” on how I wanted to have the quilts displayed for the tour, I’m using every surface I can for quilts.
(I will hang a quilt on the yellow wall, I’m just too short to reach)
My customer had commissioned me to make 4 Christmas stockings.
the pattern had the fronts quilted just on batting before assembling.
Here’s a planned project
with these fabrics from connecting threads
and as usual Sonja is helping Sew much by inspecting my fabric scraps
It was also my husband’s birthday this week, I tried to make him a Danish layer cake.
Here’s an update on my CONDENSED 2013 list
