I was very excited when Tricia emailed me and asked me if I wanted to participate in her blog hop and help promote her new book!
I jumped right on it and got my PDF version of the book and it’s awesome!!
and who doesn’t love working with precuts?? I do….
So as I was looking at the book, I decided on a modified version of a bed runner called city houses
This one uses a bunch of FQs and I have lots of those
I had this fun girly bundle from connecting threads and thought it would make a nice girly quilt
So I decided to make 12 blocks instead of the 8 as shown and then turn it into a quilt instead of a bed runner.
I added some yellow yardage and a matching pink too for the border and used both in the blocks too to tie it all together.
The directions were great!
Of course I used more FQs than it listed, but I had planned on that so it worked out just fine.
The finished quilt is 58” x 64”
I tried my hand at ruler work with my new long arm and it worked great too! on the pink large logs I did a ribbon curl and a boxy version on the other one
Then on the border I did feathers and bubbles
the back I pieced with two fabrics, a yellow and a pink
The quilting shows up great on the back
and of course I added a label- couldn’t help but add some Accuquilt houses
As you can tell our cat Swiffer was very HELPFUL when I took these pictures and was playing hide and seek behind the quilt.
There’s also a giveaway!
Tricia is giving away a copy of the book to one lucky winner and I’ll add in 5 leftover red FQs from the bundle.
Just comment below which precut you like to work with the most and enter the raffle copter
(If international, the winner will get an e-book instead of a physical book)
It ends on the 5th.
Good luck.

Tricia Maloney — Quilt With a View
https://quiltwithaview.blogspot.com/
I love Fat Quarters. More fabric means my quilt has some repeats; more fabric means more choices in how I cut it up.
Fat quarters are what I buy most of the time.
Layer cakes for me.
I enjoy using fat quarters as they are large enough for bigger applique pieces and get many multiples of the same piece from them without breaking out yardage. Also they are great for my new Go!
Fat Quarters are my favorite; followed by Layer Cakes
I love to work with "Charm Packs". They have such a diverse selection of fabric. I usually add from my stash for borders, lining and binding depending on what I am making.
Your quilt is really pretty as is your helper Swiffer.I prefer fat quarter bundles as they give me options, and leftovers for the next quilt..
I love Fat Quarters. I have quite a few bundles that I just can't cut up. Crazy I know. So pretty all the matchy matchy fabrics. Love your kitty.
i love fat qtrs
I love fat quarters, they are so easy to use.
I like 2.5 inch strips. All precuts are nnice to use.
I like fat quarters because I prefer to prewash my fabric and the amount in a fat quarter gives wiggle room for pattern choices.
Fat quarters are my favorite precut. You can't beat the versatility they offer – cut them into whatever size you need with leftovers for. Even a combo of the other precuts (strips, cakes, charms) can all be cut from one fat quarter. You just can't go wrong with fat quarter bundles.
I love Fat quarters and 2 1/2 strips the most.
Fat quarters are my go to precut. You get the most cuts from them.
I love fat quarters; as you can make a few blocks from one and aren't overly pricey! lindadixon50@yahoo.com
LOVE THE CHARM PACKS! THANKS FOR YOUR BLOG AND GIVEAWAY TOO!msstitcher1214@gmail.com
I'm definitely a fan of fat quarter bundles, but I find I have less to cut with jelly rolls. Less time cutting means more time sewing!
Fat quarters is my favorite.I used to go to your blog for Women of the Bible Quilt.I really enjoyed it. Thank you. Xo
Fat quarters are my go to precut.
Fat quarters are my favorite, but layer cakes are great, too! Your quilt is beautiful and you are doing an excellent job on your quilting.
Love charm packs and jelly rolls.
fun bright version of Tricia's City Houses…and that quilt label is just adorable!!
Fat quarters are my favorite pre-cut for both piecing and applique because of their versatility. — soparkaveataoldotcom
I have mostly fat quarters, but mini-charm packs are so cute and can be pieced together so quickly, without cutting! Thank you, peterstankovich@comcast.net
I really love FQ Bundles! It's so fun to get the variety of fabrics!Susie
I like charm packs the best (5" size)…so much variety, but small enough you aren't making a huge commitment!
I had thought about turning that runner into a whole quilt. You made yours in my daughter in laws favorite colors.
I like layer cakes-they are really very versatile. You can make short strips, charms, etc out of them.
I like working with charm packs. You get more variety of prints in your projects.
I love fat quarters to work with, but I'm not so fond of the price of those bundles! Layer cakes are my next favorite, although I always cut them which makes me wonder if that defeats the purpose of pre-cuts! Your quilt is super cute – love the pattern, the fabrics and the gorgeous quilting!
I haven't used any of my precuts. Sew no favorite yet!
Fat quarters are my favorite pre-cuts. Thanks.
I like fatquater s and charm squares. . happyness04431@yahoo.com

I like to work with jelly rolls and fat quarters however I do love also working with mini charms, charm packs and layer cakes
I like jelly roll, charms, mini charms and FQ the best. I use them all frequently. It's the layer cakes that I have that I haven't quite figured out how to use just yet…. but there is still time.tushay3 (at) yahoo (dot) com
I love charm squares and would love to have more ideas to use them. Thanks for the giveaway
last couple of purchases have been Fat Quarters. I love the colors in your quilt. thanks for sharing.
Charm squares are my favorite. In fact, I like petting them so much, it is hard to actually open up a pack and use them! I look forward to seeing what this book suggests for using charm squares. Love the colors in your quilt!
I like to work with jelly rolls and fat quarters.
I'm fond of fat quarters! You can do so much with them.
I love charm packs the most. 🙂 🙂
I really like jelly rolls.
Fat Quarters.
I like layer cakes the most!
I'm currently using a lot of charm packs on three different quilts. These are all "scrappy" types so I love the variety.
I like to BUY charm packs because they are cute and don't take up much space, but like to USE fat quarters! Lizardcreekquilter (at) yahoo (.) com
2 1/2" strips are my current go-to pre-cut. And I have taken to also chopping up my larger scraps into strips as well to augment projects and tame the scrap pile.
I like to use charm packs–I've made quite a few baby quilts with them!
Love your quilting-the owls are just too cute! I prefer fat quarters-they go a long way, and not in just one quilt! Thank you, Susan
Fat quarters are my fav precut but Ihave been known to use a jelly roll or two!!! 🙂 mumbird3(at)gmail(dot)com
FQs are my favorite, but I do have some charms that I want to use up. Nancy A: rangerer@sbcglobal.net
Fat Quarters are my first choice as you have so any options when using them. edrin1932(at)gmail(d0t)com
I enjoy (and hoard) fat quarters the most. There are just so many options to cutting them up that it's hard to not collect them!
I usually like FQs because they are so flexible. However, mini charms are definitely the cutest!
Beautiful quilting Bea and your label is so sweet! Swiffer is a cutie, I love fat quarters!
I mostly work with charm packs. I have a couple of jelly rolls, but don't know what to do with them 🙁
I love Charm packs!
Your quilt is lovely. I like jelly rolls and charm squares
Your quilt is delightful! It would certainly brighten up a cold winter. I like fat quarters because of their versatility. Thanks for the fun!
I love charm packs, but I think fat quarters are really my favorite. Thanks for the giveaway!
I like charm packs and layer cakes.
Love your Quilt!! Happy colors!! I love using Charms…and fat quarters…but cut my scraps to such sizes as needed… lol Thank you for chance to win this Super book too! 😀
Jelly rolls and layer cakes!
It really depends on what I'm working on but jelly rolls are probably my favorite..if I am adding applique, I will need charm packs or layer cakes..
Jelly rolls and fat quarters
I love the jelly rolls for their length and the great assortments you get.sewfabrics@outlook dot com
Hi Bea!!! I love all the precuts, but tend to use FQs mostly. But then I love any fabric I can add to my stash. Thanks for having the giveaway. Hugs!!!playamom57 at yahoo dot com
I like to work with the precut I already have (as opposed to the one I have to go and buy) LOL.I'll say fat quarters.
