This quilt was for my husband for christmas 2008.
I had seen a tiny little picture for a pattern for a leaf quilt in a magazine, the picture was less than 1″ square and my DH really liked it, I said- I can figure this one out!
So I sat down with graph paper and did just that! I figured each little square to be 2″ (2.5″)
then my neighbor- again the one who does everything by hand- she told me I could raid her stash of fall colored fabrics- she loves colors like that – I’m more of a bright colored fabric person, if you haven’t figured that out already.
So I set to work making this leaf quilt, it ended up being close to a queen size I think- I don’t really know, but on cold winter/fall days DH loves to snuggle with it.
So a year ago I worked on this right up until dec 23rd when my sewing machien BROKE!!!
there was nothing I could do, exept wrap up a half done quilt for christmas and say “Merry Christmas honey, you’ll get it when you pay to get my machine fixed” !! LOL
which we did soon after.
I love how the quilt turned out, but again wished I had my long arm machine back them, it’s not easy cramming a bulky quilt into the opening of a small sewing machine
