The other day I was sitting and playing in EQ and maybe it was because the heart quilt I made for a magazine had come back, but I found the same EQ file and part of the file I had made this table runner design but it didn’t get picked for a magazine nor Accuquilt, so I figured I’d bust into my red scraps and see if I could make this
My “idea” was to just use 4 red fabrics and solid white
Since the heart die block finishes at 6” I used the 6” QUBE set and made the diamond blocks. (shapes 5 and 6)
Then I put the hearts on opposite sides
and I used shape2 die from the 6” qube set and cut out 11 in each of the red fabrics and then also cut out the 2” white strips (1 1/2” finished)
Now the top measures 15” x 27” and I quilted it in white thread and added one of the reds as binding. I even had to piece the back from two pieces and now I have no scraps leftover of these 4 fabrics!
(actually hardly any white either)
I did a ribbon design on the white, curves on the blocks but straight lines on the heart blocks
here’s the back of the runner
a fun little project
I listed it here in my etsy shop
and here in my shopify store
