Heart runner and scrappy trip around the world

I finished quilting the Heart Valentine’s MMRR table runner and added the binding. I LOVE it!!

On the outer border I quilted straight lines, then dense hearts on the skinny borders, curves from corner to corner on the four patches and also the large 16 patches in the center with straight outline for the large heart.

P1030366

bubbles around the sashing of the mini hearts at the ends and I left those hearts alone so they actually puff up a bit

And this week’s Woman of the bible was the widow of Zarephath (never heard of her before now. The block is a dinner plate because she thought she would die of starvation. So I guess her meal here is a BIRD (chicken) with some green vegetables Smile

I was thinking about people dying of starvation, what a horrible way to die and living in the western world it’s so foreign for us. we always have food to eat, 3 meals a day and snacks in between!

It also made me think of a documentary we saw recently called CAMP 14, about a man in North Korea who escaped this camp and how they were always hungry and had cabbage soup and rice- one bowl a day. the only meat they’d have would be the occasional rat they’d trap in their tent!

The boy/young man escaped because a new prisoner told him about the foods in the outside world (this boy was born in the camp) he heard about chicken and other foods and then that gave him the drive to try to escape!

such a powerful movie. it’s on netflix streaming btw.
