If you’ve followed me for a while, you might know that my teenage daughter has made a few “furry” things like paws and ears, well now she started on feet and Sonja my 2nd grader wanted to make paws too and I told her she could use the pink “fur” minky I got in my Michael Miller Box, so the first step was to trace her hand, and animals don’t have 5 fingers like humans do so you have to combine two fingers into one, so she traced that first
You see Solveig’s “old” paws in the background, and here the pink minky and also the lacy ruffles from the MM box.
I double checked her tracing and moved the pinky closer to the rest
then added a rough seam allowance.
Then I cut that out and traced two right paws and flipped it for 2 left paws
Then I cut them out and Sonja drew the “pads” and I cut out of some scrap wool I had
Then I machine appliqued them on and the palm “pad” I added a bit of fiber fill and appliqued the rest down
really cute!
Then we got the idea to cut about 1″ of ruffles and roll it around itself and actually use the stitched down part as claws/nails and I basted them to the finger tips
Then I sewed the paws together and Sonja tried them on, they are tight but a perfect fit and she loves them!
some nails got caught in the seam but she didn’t care at all
Solveig had made these ears for Sonja last year for her birthday, so Sonja wanted to combine it with a soft jacket and pose for a picture outside 🙂
One happy girl 🙂
Oh my gosh these pink paws are adorable. Wonderful tutorial. Thank you. Total #CreativeGoodness. They just look like loads of fun. Very paw-sitive
These are so darn cute. Well done for the group effort.
That is just so sweet!
How cute! She did a great job!
