Do you follow Accuquilt’s blog?
If you do, you might have seen this already….
I used their new NC star die (since I live in NC I just HAD to come up with something for this die!!)
I also used the 8″ QUBE set and a strip die for the border and binding.
And then I used these cute patriotic fabrics.
all the cutting directions are on Accuquilt’s blog post
And here’s all the pieces cut and ready to sew together
The blocks went together pretty quickly!
Then I added the sashing blocks and a blue border and I quilted in a meander design with stars.
I used this for the backing and binding
Here’s some EQ sketches for ideas, which is what I submitted first before the project was approved.
and this one in my Spring Farm fabrics I have in stock 🙂
The NC star block is a fun and easy block to make, but with so many pieces I don’t think I would have ever made it if I had to cut out templates or Foundation pieced the blocks, so glad there’s a die for that!
I sometimes get asked if I sell patterns for specific dies and other than QUBE sets, I don’t because the templates would be too hard to copy or create for those who don’t have the dies, would you buy a pattern from me if it was JUST for a specific die? Most patterns like that are free on Accuquilt’s website so….you can always have more I guess??
Those dies are great! It’s such a pretty quilt!
That turned out great. Lots of punch in the colors you chose. I’m finally getting an Accuquilt (Studio 2, used). It will hopefully arrive tomorrow.
Great quilt! Will be perfect for the 4th of July.
I love the quilt. I wish these dies were more affordable. They are so expensive.
