I really don’t like Halloween one bit, we did a bit of trick or treating when Bjorn and Solveig were little until one time, we went with friends to a bridge locally to see carved pumpkins by local artists, it was dark and we had to park far away, then walk up to the bridge, packed with people and dark. Then in the middle of the bridge were a group of people CHANTING, it was super creepy, we could just sense the evil in it! Never did that again and stopped going to anything for years unless our church did something, and it wasn’t until a few years ago that our church’s secretary offered her property/house for games and food and fellowship for the kids (and parents) this year is the last year she’s doing it.
Sonja made her Halloween outfit and I bought Anja hers! But I think this will be the last year we’ll do anything, usually we keep the lights off in our house and no porch lights but still kids come up, so we do give out candy! I don’t decorate for Halloween and don’t allow Jack-O-Lanterns either…. have you read the history of that???
Can me strict, fickle or whatever, I don’t care.
But it IS reformation day
It is the day to recognize and commemorate Martin Luther’s nailing his 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany in 1517
Yes, Happy Reformation Day!
Grateful for courageous Jesus-followers, throughout the ages and now! Walking faithfully in the love, grace, and forgiveness of Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit, aiming to give God glory.
