2021 is ending today and what a year it was, to me it didn’t seem that much different than 2020! Of course Covid and restrictions are always on our minds. It’s been almost 2 years now!! Life needs to move on but I honestly don’t see that happening, but hopefully I’m wrong! My husband might lose his job because of these mandates and he works from home, it’s just ridiculous! And I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back to Denmark to visit my mom or friends. I just want to be able to make my own choices for myself and my family and whatever we decide is nobody’s business (HIPPAA right?)
anyways, we can agree or disagree and that should be okay, so I’ll leave it at that.
There has been good things going on this year! My family is happy and healthy including the pets 🙂
Hubby finished fixing up this fixer upper house we bought almost 2 years ago and we got it rented out! Bjorn and Solveig are doing great in school, Bjorn found out he had to add another semester so he will now graduate next December, but then instead of a Bachelor’s in Math and Business, he’ll now have a minor in Economics. Solveig is doing well at Community College and her friend group has shifted a bit, but that seems ok. She wants to study Psychology now and we’re encouraging her to even go to Med School. so we’ll see. Sonja and Anja are doing well at home, homeschooling, Sonja still misses her friends and misses school but she’s happy we have short day and maskless days! We’re studying American History with Sonlight and I’m learning a lot too!
Here’s a fun question from Sonlight (it was something to share at Christmas) but it can really just be a fun thought exercise!
If you could spend Christmas with anyone you read about this year who would it be? (we expanded it to include ANYONE! no matter what time or country)
I asked my kids and it morphed into quite a list, some historical, some current people. Here’s our list:
George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, Keano Reeves, Matthew mckaunehaue (sp?), Bruce Lee, Capt. Kirk and Spock, Esther from the bible, Jesus (though that would be quite intimidating!) Paul the Apostle, Anne Frank, Martin Luther King Jr., Leonardo Davinci, Socrates, Plato, Albert Einstein, Our pastor, Alex jones, my teenager’s history teacher at college, Jordan Peterson, then Gordon Ramsey would be in charge of the food, and music by Johann Sebastian Back, Han Zimmer and Enya….. it’s quite a party!!Now what could they talk about, would they get along?
And then we also talked about a question our pastor talked about last Sunday, which is: What would the world be like if Jesus was never born? If you believe in him or not, Christianity/ the Church has changed the world a lot in the last 2000 years, the new testament wouldn’t exist, so maybe the world would be very strict -legalistic (jews?) vs. wild and unruly-no rules at all, talk about division!! We could go on and on about that question.
Okay, I’ll make this post a bit about quilting too!
I already showed my UGLY quilt of the year
but I had a really hard time making up my mind about what my most favorite quilt was this year but I settled on Crown of Thorns
funny they are both scrappy quilts, I do love to use up scraps, but sometimes I miss the mark! But that’s what donations are for 😉
I don’t make resolutions, but I still “plan” on creating and publishing 1 pattern per week, still work with Accuquilt, Connecting Threads, Love Sew, then more on Etsy and redesign my website AGAIN! and work on marketing!
and get ready for the 2022 QAL!!
Happy New YEAR everyone!
Happy New Year to you and your family too! Yes, it’s been quite a year (or two!) and I’m hoping for a better 2022. I love seeing your patterns on Accuquilt – the Aloha Stars Throw Quilt is stunning – I bought the die because of that pattern.
Happy New Year to you and your family. Hope you will be able to go to Denmark again soon.
Happy New Year to you, Bea!
Happy New Year!
thanks! You too!
