Recently I was able to work with these fun fabrics for a quilt for McCall’s magazine.
With magazine quilts I often have leftover fabrics, so these fabrics were just staring at me and wanted to be used for something else
I was looking at my old patterns and thought I could use this GO GREEN pattern
Plus, now those kite and triangle blocks are part of Accuquilt QUBE sets, so then I had the idea of making a table runner with the 6″ QUBE set so the blocks would be 9″
I had enough to cut out 3 blocks including the borders
here’s the small 3″ blocks so far
and border squares with the blocks
and here’s the top all done
It then measured 18″ x 39″ approx
look at these two pics, the one above was on my design wall with spotlights and the bottom was on the wall with just my ceiling light. Both were photoshopped too.
I quilted a flower and leaf vine all over it
It’s easier to see on the back
I have it listed in my etsy shop here
I also had some other fabrics leftover and made a few eyeglass holders
and this owl pincushion
When I requested the fabrics from Moda, as always, I asked if they wanted to send something extra as a giveaway, and they were happy to send this charm pack!
So I’ve bundled it together with my GO Green pattern (even though you need other fabric to make that quilt)
enter below, what’s your favorite charm pack pattern? do you have one or not?
I’ll pick a winner a week from today!
I love charm packs, and my favorite thing to make is one of the table runner patterns I designed to use them. For this one I think I would do Cobblestones!
I don’t work with charm packs all that often, but I have been piecing a “kindred spirits” top from Missouri Star when I have time.
I work with them quite a bit but don't actually have a favorite pattern to use with them. I like making different patterns a lot to challenge myself and to just see something I've not made before.
I have no favorites, I like them all!
I do have a couple of charm packs, but do not have a favorite, or other pattern to use them! Thank you, Susan
I've never sewn with charm packs although I own a couple. So I don't have a favorite pattern or maybe I'm waiting for the right one to come along. Karen
I have seen two quilts using charm packs. I don't really have a favorite pattern for charm packs although the first quilt I made with them was quite fun to make. It was called Surround Sound and was from a book by Konda Luckau.
Sorry I meant to say I have made two quilts with charm packs. I have seen them also but that would be more than two.
I don't have a specific pattern, but have done a few I made up, alternating sashing strips around the light and dark colors of the charm packs. They are fast and turn out great!
I've always liked the Triangle Mix-Up pattern by Annie's Quilts…someday I'll make one!
I love charm packs to use in baby quilts especially but don’t have favorite pattern for them.
I don't have a favorite but if I'm in a hurry I just sew them on the diagonal with a spacer. I'm always looking for new ones.D9P are great.
I don't have one yet. I think disappearing 9 patch is one I want to try though.
I never really thought about it so I guess I don't have a favorite charm pack pattern. I haven't worked with charm packs yet but would love to try it.
I love charm packs and have been known to buy layer cakes so I can cut them into fourths so I can have 4 charm packs!!! My favorites aren't from any one line..I like small prints basically…when it's in a 5 inch piece small works better. Thanks for a chance to win…If you can't already tell I LOVE CHARMS PACKS. 🙂
Thanls, Bea. I love charm packs and every new one I find is my favourite. LOL
I don't have a favorite charm pack pattern. Maybe yours will be it.
Hi Bea. I have been collecting charm squares, just waiting for the “right” pattern to inspire me to use them. I love your Go Green pattern and do have those dies, so……..😄Carol
I have several that I jump between!.
I enjoy charm packs and I cut my scraps into 5" squares when I can to make my own. My current favorite is Galaxy by Villa Rosa Designs; they have several good ones for charm packs.
