This month’s challenge with Island Batik is paper piecing, it can be English paper piecing, or Foundation piecing.
I showed one EPP project already here
But then I wanted to show some FPP too!
Here’s how I made it
First I printed the blocks and cut them out, then the directions also show how to cute each section- I did sub a few colors and added 3 purples and a grey for the background, as I only had a FQ or small scraps of the dark and light purple.
I just love this checkered purple fabric from Island Batik called Check it out
Then I started sewing the block pieces together with a short stitch length
after the block sections were done, I trimmed and removed the papers
Then sewed these together into blocks
Here’s the blocks all done, that check is just FUN!
Then added the borders
And I quilted it with a small pointy swirl allover and added the pale purple as binding
This is a pattern I have in my shopify store here
It’s an “old” pattern, but still “works” ha ha
Check it out and if you’d like to purchase it, use the coupon code INTROSALE to get %50 off!!
Fun to see the checks in use, I haven't decided how to use mine yet.
Beautiful fabric collection by Island Batik and lovely design by you. Total #CreativeGoodness.
Thanks for showing how you made it. Love it
Cute runner!
