First I have to say Sorry to Island Batik for NOT reading the name of the fabric collection…. as I was planning my quilt actually in November I think, I picked fabrics I liked and went along with my plan for a WINTER quilt, NOT a fall quilt. Well, I guess I was just in my own happy little batik world, that I didn’t pay attention, but I still LOVE the end result!
Here’s a picture of the Autumn’s Grace Collection, it’s just YUMMY!
As I said earlier, I had a pattern in mind, this cute snowman quilt I got from Annie’s
and with these bright colors, maybe that WAS my original plan to just do it in batiks with this collection, but as I started planning and cutting more, I realized that I had enough of just the blues to make the quilt, so that’s how the plan changed
Oh and Thanks to Island Batik for sending me the white for the snowmen!!
Here’s all the pieces cut out and ready and snowmen fused down! (Hey I did use the orange for the carrot noses!! does that count?)
The alternate star blocks are these wonky star blocks, fun to make but more work, but worth it!
Then I planned my layout
and sewed it together and quilted it and added binding!
I quilted a swirl all over it, but avoided the snowmen, the swirl made me think of cold wind! brrr!
it’s hard to see but I found a cut snowflake stitch on my sewing machine that I used for stitching down the binding!
I also machine embroidered this label, it was a free mitten design I had, but it’s way too dense and doesn’t look great, okay for a label I guess, but that’s why I try out free files for labels, it’s not a big deal, but I can then delete the files if I don’t like them….
Here’s the quilt hanging on the wall in our family room!
I wish I could have made something else out of all the other fabrics, but January has been super busy! But I LOVE the snowman quilt!!

What a beautiful snowman quilt. And remember, we're from Scandinavia, and here we often have full winter already in October. So this is great.
I think you used perfect colors for your quilt, so so cute! I tend to like aquas and bright blues so a version with those colors is something I would consider.
I would probably do them in Christmas reds and greens. Thanks for sharing, I love your quilt. grinnie1961 at gmail dot com
Beautiful snowman quilt Bea! What a fun design.
You know I love me some snowmen, so it is a great quilt!
Love those snowmen! I have a lot of blue winter decorations so I would probably make the quilt in shades of blue with the snowmen still in white.
Bea, your quilt is as cute as can be. I love it. I really love the blues in this quilt so I would use them with the white snowmen. Thanks for the chance.
oh how adorable and gorgeous. I would so make this quilt with blue batiks also. quilting dash lady at Comcast dot net
Very cute wall hanging. I can see the snowmen in shimmery fabrics – a shiny white for the snowman and an assortment of shimmery blues for the backgrounds. Then the stars can be all sorts of bright shimmery fabrics on the assorted blues. Thanks for the chance to win.
Your quilt is just adorable and the fabrics are just perfect.
I love snowmen year round. I love both versions so I would make 2 minis so I could have both 🙂
The blues are nice. That way they can stay up a long time maybe till March.
love it!!
I really like your quilt since I am partial to snowmen. It looks easy enough that I think I would actually make one, so thank you for the pattern giveaway opportunity.
Great quilt. I would use lighter blues if I made this quilt. I'm a 'bright' fabric person.
Beautiful quilt, love the blues 💕
I like the blues used in the quilt, but greys, or reds would be nice, too. Cute quilt!
Blues, definitely. There's something about winter and the color blue. Karenkthurn(at)bektel(dot)com
Oh that turned out so cute. Great Job! I like your blue and white version. Nice to hang over the winter too. A torquoise/teal version would be pretty. Thanks for sharing the giveaway!
That is a super cute quilt! Love it!
Blue is just right for this quilt–and it's beautiful! And we had our first big snowfall in October, so the snowman theme is fitting for autumn.
I think your variety of blue shades looks great. Why change it!
Great quilt and I do love that you used the blues – very wintery. 🙂 Sorry, I don't think the orange carrot noses will count for autumn. I love the blues and that's perfect for snowmen.
I love the colors you used in the quilt as it is.
Very cute! Love the colors you picked, but cute in brights, too. Fun!
Your snowman quilt is so cute. I love those noses. The colours you chose give the quilt a very wintery feel. Great job. Thanks for sharing.
I was so taken by your quilt that I forgot I was going to answer your question. I would make this design in blues as well and after seeing your version I think I would be picking grayer blues that I normally do. Thanks for the inspiration.
I love these snowmen. And such beautiful fabric.
I love the color choices on your quilt! I would have to use the blues, orange & yellows & creams! Thank you, Susan
I would do a blue version – great pattern!!
Ha! What a happy accident. I for one am happy you didn't read the name of the collection. Love this quilt!
After seeing your quilt, I think I would do it in blues also–so pretty! Thanks for the idea and for a chance to win.barbkaup(at)(yahoo)(dot)(com)
I thought at first that I would prefer the bright colors, but after seeing your quilt, I may have to make one with blues, too. I'm glad you made a mistake!
I have made snowmen in the autumn!! The winter of 2015-2016, we were skiing before Halloween and finished on July 4 in the Sierra Nevada Mountains! I would choose the colors you used…reminds me of a moonlit winter night!
Your snowment are too cute!
Your snowmen are sooooo Cool!! Love this Quilt!! 🙂 I would make it in the same colorway you used..Wintery Blues, White & some Grays. Beautiful job!! Thank you for chance to win your Give-a-way too 🙂
Gorgeous snowman quilt!! I’d make mine the same, blue and white. I think your label with the mitten is cute. This is a perfect quilt for my Mom. usairdoll (at) gmail (dot) com
I like both the bright and the darker colors you used ty for the diffrent color ways. ..I think a fall snow man would be pretty… happyness04431@yahoo.com
I love the snowman. I'd use dark blues, white, black, Grey's.
Blue and white for snow quilts. I collect items with snowman themes!
My initial thought was to use more traditional red, navy, and white for my quilt, but I really like the more subdued colors you used…so now I'm torn! I might make two–a trad quilt for me, and a more gracious, subdued quilt for my friend Kim, whose lovely home would do it justice.
Your quilt is lovely, and I would probably use the same colors as you if I were to make a snowman quilt!
I would use the colors that you did…those orange noses really pop!deb(dot)rick(at)live(dot)com
Love the fabric for the carrot nose!!! It is perfect!!! Blues and whites make the perfect snowmen for me!!! mumbird3(at)gmail(dot)com
I like your colors. If I made your quilt, I would also use the blues and whites. Very pretty, and cute too. warner.dale@gmail.com
Love your quilt!
Love your quilt, and yes, the blues are perfect for it. I would also make it in blue, but black might also be good — thinking of a night sky. Nancy A: rangerer@sbcglobal.net
Så sød – ville elske at sy den i blå og hvide farver. Næsen er bare helt perfekt i gulerodsfarven. Du har valgt helt perfekt stof.
Love the snowman! The blues are perfect for it. And I love this pattern. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
Love your snowman quilt Bea. I think it looks good in the colors you had to use. I think if I were to make it, the colors I'd use would be a mid-dark blue for the background, white for the snowmen, and metallic silver and gold for all the stars.
