It’s time for some Birds!
As time got closer and closer to the date and Joan sent out reminders, I realized I didn’t have much time at all! Time just flies by since we moved my in-laws in to live with us, they are really NOT doing well!
Anyways, my back up plan was to machine embroider some birds maybe for a pincushion, then I thought of OWLS and BINGO!! I have so many OWL things, I love owls!!
The small owls are machine embroidered (pincushions) where I got the file from emblibrary
The bigger owl on the back right was a stuffie in a quilt magazine
The owl on the back left it from dolls and daydreams
Several years ago, I used the bird dies and embroidery files from Accuquilt and made this quilt.
I love making the owl pincushions, I used to sell some locally with little hangers on them as Christmas ornaments.
I’ve also made some owl hanging bags with the embroidery file from embroidery garden
And here’s more of the big owls
Accuquilt also has an owl die and I made this pillow several years ago
And this wall hanging with metallic threads
Accuquilt also has a studio die with an owl and I made this pillow with that die a while ago
I have a few bird themed patterns in my shop too, one is “What a hoot”
The pattern is on sale HERE for $8 this week!
And once I made a small version of the block and made it into a mug rug- I love to move the eyes around all funny!
And I have a pattern called Bird Watching that’s also on sale this week for $8
And the last item I’ll show is the FQ club on my site, this quarter it’s bird themed!!
Â
Once a quarter (every 3 months from the date you order) you get 6 FQs which I put together as a “theme” and this quarter is “pink birds”
Then you get to pick a PDF pattern from ALL of my regular patterns AND you get free shipping for $23.99 per quarter
Okay I think that’s enough bird eye candy 🙂

Wow that is quite the Parliament of Owls you have there. I like that one with the selvages, especially since I have a tons of selvages and have made lots of selvage stuff.
Whooo…doesn’t love owls! LOL!! You have the best collection on the planet too!
Love em all!
Your owls are all just the cutest! I think you win the “owl” contest on how many you’ve made over the years. Being a caretaker is a lot of work, so be sure to take some time for yourself if you can. Thanks for sharing, Bea!
Love all your owls, and my daughter would too. I will have to look up those embroidery library designs. Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Your owls are a hoot! I enjoy the Great Horned owls that nest in my neighborhood each fall; such fun to hear them calling and to catch an occasional glimpse as they set out on the evening hunt. Thanks for sharing.
