Floral Whole Quilt – Quilt Along March 2013

GET READY!!!

I created a button and will create a PAGE for it too.

I will start March 1st and post every friday for 6 weeks!

Then we’ll have THIS done!

it measures 56″ x 56″

This will also be a SKILL BUILDER quilt

Even if you are a beginner, you CAN do it!!

There will be plain piecing, templates, foundation piecing and applique.

TRUST me 🙂 you CAN do it!!

Who’s with me???

I just used fabrics from my stash here- I may change the yellow out.

Here’s the yardage for the TOP (not including binding or backing)

yellow 1yd

blue floral (border) 1yd

white floral 1yd

red floral 1/2yd

blue small floral 3/4yd

blue circles 1/2yd

red small floral 3/4 yd

Now since this is in EQ and we’re going to be doing templates and foundation patterns, I’d add a bit more. I actually have a yard of all of these. so you can just do 1yd of 7 different fabrics!

I’ll look for a place to HOST pdf patterns that I can link to,

otherwise I may have to just email them to you…..

  1. What a great idea. Wish I could join in the fun but have too much on my palte as it is. Good luck and I can't wait to see all the results

  2. I'm so glad this is a "skill builder" – because I haven't done a lot of paper piecing or applique. But if you say I can do it, I believe you! LOL I'm in!! Besides, that quilt looks like it's gonna be gorgeous. 🙂

  3. I'd like to try this…don't know if I can actually follow , but it looks wonderful! And the skill building aspect is great. With all the fabric I've bought lately, I should have enough to do it…

  4. I am in and your fabrics look very familiar. Lol. I am looking forward to this and am pleased about the mixture of techniques in one project. Thanks for the opportunity.

  5. Cute quilt. Won't jump on the wagon or even attempt to. I have quilts I must finish by May but it's looks fun. Maybe I can organize myself better and join in next time.

I'll join you! I was hoping this design won. Since this is in EQ will we be using EQ for it? Or do you mean you designed in in EQ? I'll be posting about it on my blog to spread the word. Thanks for all you do to spread the joy of quilting.

  7. I think this is a challenge I am up for! Count me in and thank you for taking the time to develop and share this quilt along!

Hiya Bea!!!I probably won't do it right now, but hope you do it in pdf form. I save a lot of directions for later use. Thanks for being so generous. Blessed be, hugs!!!pamspretties57 at gmail dot com

  9. Wow. This looks like a great project. I will have to 'follow on the sidelines' for this one, just have too much on my plate right now.

  10. I've been saving floral fabrics for a long time now and this is just right to use up those well "aged" fabrics. Thanks!! I look forward to this QAL.cheryl
