I’ve been finishing up PROJECTS these days.
Finally I got this TOP done, it’s HUGE, 80 x 92.
Backing is all in one piece and I have batting by the roll, so it’s ready to be quilted
I showed it at a guild meeting last week and someone told me about a ribbon pantograph, I don’t do those but often get inspired by them and do my own version.
so I’ll have to look that up when I get ready to quilt this one.
I’ve also had this customer quilt waiting to be quilted and I felt guilty that I’ve been neglecting that for about a week, I’m beeing finishing up STUFF and owls and portfolios.
anyways, I finished this one this morning.
The blue work was LOVELY, though I had trouble with some sashing and pieced borders, but I did the best I could.
I quilted a basic dense meandering on the white parts, a swirl loop on the sashing and this tear drop border design using one of the designs from leah day’s book.
I can’t remember if it was from the blue or red book, I bought them both at the same time 🙂
Yesterday my neighbor and I went to a local quilt store and I really wanted to look for the black fabric for this top. Remember I wasn’t LOVING the red border I had originally intended.
So I got 1 1/2 yds. a few weeks ago a few neighbors and I did the quilt store stash dash, I didn’t get a book, but sort of shared one with one neighbor, she said if she’d win a sewing machine I would get it ha ha, I told her I would help her SELL it or buy it from her etc. Anyways, she DID win something, she won a $50 card to each of the stores, so yesterday she actually bought my fabric for me.
THANKS!!
I just LOVE LOVE this border fabric instead, it looks 100 % better.
Backing is pieced too and ready to go.
Oooooo! I really like that black border, too! Looks great.
Your pink ribbon quilt is absolutely beautiful! And what a difference that gorgeous border fabric makes on the other one. You are a fabulous quilter and it is such fun to come for a visit and see your great quilts and quilting, too!
Great projects!!

Wow, that quilt is beautiful! Erin from Missy Mac Creations (http://missymaccreations.blogspot.com/) is hosting TGIFF! this Friday. It would be great if you'd link this beautiful finish up to share with others. 🙂
What a great pink ribbon quilt. Can't wait to see how you do the quilting on it.
