For this year, I’m going to start featuring an Accuquilt die every week- at least that’s my plan 🙂
First up is this BOB die called Arrowhead
It’s a pretty simple die with 3 different shapes on it, tiny squares, large triangles and a long chisel shape.
Blocks finish 9″
I sometimes get to know about the dies before release and get to play with them to make something for the release, other times I get to play with them AFTER the release!
I always start by playing in EQ8!
I liked the blue one below but didn’t have the right fabrics for it
so instead I came up with a yellow and brown version- totally reminds me of my childhood in the 80s
I quickly cut out the fabrics- notice I mark the die with the size of the WOF strip and how many pieces I get from one WOF.
The blocks are then easy to sew together, first a four patch in the middle
Then the chisel shapes, half and half of each where the color is on the right or the left
And adding those to the four patches
and adding the yellow and white triangles
I guess I forgot to take pictures of the finished blocks, but here they all are together with the border added
And quilted and bound, the quilt measures 33″ x 42″ so a small lap quilt, I think I’ll donate to hospice.
A loopy long arm design in light brown thread
totally blurry backing, but it’s the dark brown like on the front.
a fun and easy quilt to make! and you can combine the BOB die with either the 9″ QUBE or the 6″ QUBE!
I love your yellow/brown version. Looks like it is an easy and fast quilt to create. I think I need this BOB die.
