It’s the end of the QAL!
Blocks HH and II are the last 2 blocks on the last row.
Block HH is Weathervane (Accuquilt has a die for it too btw) it’s similar to block T which we did earlier.
It’s block #100 and is on page 45 and 227 in the book
Cut out the following
with die #1 cut out 1 in light blue
with die #2 cut out 4 in light blue and medium blue and dark blue
with die #5 cut out 8 in light blue
with die #8 cut out 4 in dark blue
sew the #4 pieces together as shown- it seems a bit odd but it WILL fit.
Then start sewing together an uneven nine patch for the center of the block with light blue and dark blue
add more of the #4 medium blue triangles and light blue #5 triangles
and finish the uneven nine patch
then sew the block together with the remaining medium blue #2 squares
Block II is a Monkey wrench block, very simple!
with die #1 cut out 1 in medium blue
with die #3 cut out 4 in medium blue and black
with die #8 cut out 4 in medium blue and black as well
sew the HSTs and the rectangles together (4 of each)
sew into rows and then the block like this with the medium blue #1 square in the center
I forgot to take a picture of the top before I quilted it, but here’s what I added
with white I cut (82) 2″ x 9 1/2″ rectangles as sashing and with grey I cut (48) 2″ squares as cornerstones then sewed those between and around the blocks
the dark blue border is 3 1/2″ x 75 1/2″ for the sides and the top and bottom border is 3 1/2″ 60 1/2″
The quilt measures 60″ x 81″
It was fun to make, I’m just sorry nobody linked up or sewed along 🙁
Thanks for doing these blog posts! I bought the book and followed along. I plan to make the quilt in the near future. I just had too many other projects going on right now.
GREAT! I’d love to see it when you’re done.
I did try to link up a couple of times, but seems like an involved process to do so. I did get a copy of the book, and used scrappy civil war type prints. Have a couple more blocks to do – had to stop to make a baby quilt b4 finishing!! I have made several of your QAL and credit them for teaching me how to quilt and use my Accuquilt products. Always love your patterns and ideas. Thanks!!
I stopped doing the link ups since no one was linking up, feel free to email me a picture and I can show it in a blog post if you’d like!
I’ve been sewing along the whole time but trying to post pictures was a tad difficult. Just don’t know what I’m doing when it comes to that type of stuff. I hope to finish all of my blocks soon, Will attempt to post when finished.
Thank you so much for doing this for us, loved it!
you can email me the pictures when done… the link up was to a blog post (your own blog post if you had one)
