It’s time for the farmer’s wife QAL block S
Block S is the 4th block on the 4th row and it’s #55 in the book and it’s called Linoleum and is on pages 90 and 182
For this blue cut out the following
with Light Blue cut out (1) of #1, (4) of #8 and (8) of #5
with Dark Blue cut out (4) of #8 and (4) of #10 which is a signature block and can be made with 2 of #2 squares and 2 of #5 triangles OR a big #1 square with a square in the corners and sew diagonally and trim away- I think you know how to make a signature block 🙂
sew the #8 rectangles together
and add the #5 triangles to the signature shapes
Then sew the block together like this with the #1 square in the center
The farmer’s wife letter on pages 90-93 talks about schools getting better thru the generations. It’s hard for me to compare my schooling to my kids’ schooling as I grew up in Denmark and my kids when to American schools. In Denmark kids go to one school from K-9th or 10th grade, the 10th grade is optional as some colleges need that 10th year or a year of working, when kids graduate from there they are 15 or 16 and then go to trade school or college (more like a community college here) for 4 years I think, then after that they can go to university. I took the 10th grade and then after that I went to an art school which was a boarding school (no certificate or anything) but it was just for a year, it was neat! the school was an old castle sort of and my room was in one of the towers! My parents were getting divorced around that time so it suited me just fine to be away from home! Then after that (for one year) I went to college in Florida!
