It’s time for the Farmer’s wife QAL block R
This block is the 3rd block on the 4th row, it’s #53 in the book, it’s called Jackknife and it’s on pages 28 and 180
For this block
with Grey cut out (4) of #5, (1) of #1, (8) of #4 and (4) of #16 BUT you can also cut out 3 of #5 to make the trapezoid #16 shape, so then cut out 12 total.
with Medium Blue cut out (8) of #4, (4) of #5 and (4) of #16 -or do the same with die #5!
Here is a sample of hoe 3 of #5 triangles can be sewn together to make shape #16 trapezoids- in case you don’t have that die or companion set.
sew together 2 sets of 4 of the trapezoid #16 together with opposite #5 triangles like this
and 8 sets of the #4 QSTs
then sew the QSTs together and the units with the trapezoids to get 4 of each set.
then sew the block together like this with the grey #1 square in the center.
On page 28-29 is another letter from a farmer’s wife and she mentioned motherhood is the “heritage of the Lord”
Today, I feel like it’s almost frowned upon to be a mom, definitely with the younger generation! I know I probably didn’t think much about being a mom when I was a teenager, but I surely didn’t think I DIDN’T want to have kids, I knew I wanted kids eventually and more than one because I was an only child and I was bored (creative but bored!) It’s sad to see the world be SO confused. I’ll leave it at that……

I agree, Bea, we live in a crazy, mixed up world. I could get on my soap box too, but, like you, I’ll just leave it right there!
