Farmer’s Wife QAL Block G

It’s time for block G, #21 in the book and it’s called Contrary wife

It’s another simple block!

With Black cut 4 of shape #3

With Light Blue cut 4 of shape #3 as well

and with Medium Blue cut 5 of shape #1

sew the 4 sets of HSTs together

then into rows

and then here’s the finished block!

The story that goes with this block seems to me to be from a bitter woman or more of a woman who speaks of others complaining about farm life, I can see her point too, some people look at country folks with a negative cognitive dissonance, but country folks LIKE it, LOVE love farm life or country life. I think about how I NEVER would have homeschooled my kids, if you had asked me 3 or 4 years ago, I would still have said NEVER, that I trusted in the public school system and wanted my kids to be a “light” but I saw how it’s affected my kids and then with Covid it was a disaster, I was so stressed out, I was surprised when my husband suggested homeschooling, but once I researched it and found Sonlight and started teaching it, I just LOVE it and now wish I had done it with my older kids! It’s a bit tricky with 2 girls, I can’t imagine doing 3 or 4 kids, but I can see how it IS possible to do, and I KNOW what my kids are learning, and I’m learning too AND it’s PRO America and a Christian curriculum! You don’t get that in public school! So I can now get on MY soap box and snub my nose at the public school system, but it also grieves me that the system is what it is…. and colleges too! SIGH!
