farmer’s wife QAL block FF and GG

we just have a few more blocks to go! Blocks FF and GG are on the last row

Block FF is #92 in the book and called streaks of lightning (maybe I should have turned the block??)

it’s on pages 116 and 219

a simple block with just squares and rectangles!

With die # 2 cut out 3 EACH of grey and dark blue

with die #8 cut out 7 in grey and 8 in dark blue

make sets sets of 3 grey rectangles and dark blue squares and 3 sets with dark blue rectangles and grey squares and then 3 sets of 3 rectangles in grey and dark blue

sew together 3 sets on the left, 1 in the middle and 2 on the right following the colors below 🙂

Then sew the block together like this

block GG is #98 and it’s called Waterwheel and it’s on page 53 and 225

this one is simple and a bit tricky at the same time, it’s just squares and triangles but the placement of the fabrics might be the tricky part cut out the follow

with die #2 cut out 4 grey, 4 light blue, 8 medium blue and 4 black

with die #3 cut out 2 grey, 4 medium blue and 2 black

sew sets like this below 2 with grey and medium blue, 4 with light and medium blue, 2 with black and medium blue and 2 with grey and black

and then sew the HSTs together making sure there’s a medium blue on all of them- so 2 of each

now make four patches, 1 that’s grey and black, 2 each of the ones below, it’s easier just to look

then sew the block together like this!

The letter on page 114 mentions “tasks” or chores for kids appropriate for their size. Do you have chores for your kids? I know I have NOT pushed it enough for my kids, I really should, but I get lazy too and I see it in my older kids. Maybe when they are adults they’ll take it more seriously?
