It’s time for block #2 with the Farmer’s Wife QAL!
Block #2 is a simple one!
It’s hard to see the colors but it’s light blue and dark blue
with light blue cut 1 of #1 and 8 of #3
with dark blue cut 8 of #3
refer back to here for rotary cutting
sew the 8 large HSTs together
then sew rows or columns together like this sort of like a nine patch layout.
and the block looks like this!
The block is called “Box” and it’s on page, it’s the same story as on page 82 and the lady mentions that she still reads 80 books a year! I don’t think I even read that many, even homeschooling with a literature based curriculum! well Maybe… I do listen to Audio books while I sew too. I started listening to Agatha Christie books with Hercule Poirot! I do find that they are often too many people to keep track of, so it’s hard for me to follow along.
With my girls we’re reading a lot of books from early American history, both before the settlers but now the settlers, the revolution and early 1800s. We just finished a book about Robert Fulton who was a boy inventor and as an adult helped promote steam boats (and built them better) We also read a book about old “woodsy” people in TN how they lived in the woods and lived off the land and what else they did, it’s called Winter Danger and there was some “injuns” in there too, it was a bit tricky to read out loud as it was written with the slang and there were some tense scenes in there too!
What books do you like to read?
also link up below with your block pictures- either from this week or last week
I’m just seeing this QAL (I’ve been behind on blog reading since Christmas). I have this book, but I’ve never made the quilt. I might do mine in Civil War reproductions. Now to figure out what size I want to make my blocks….especially since I don’t have an Accuquilt for easy cutting.
