We’re back to doing 2 blocks per week, block Z and AA are the first two blocks on row 6, pretty simple blocks!
Block Z is #80 in the book and it’s named Single Wedding Star, I know it as a rolling rock block and have a pattern called rolling boulder (and kit) with that block. The block is shown on pages 55 and 207.
It’s a simple block to cut out
With Medium Blue cut out 1 of shape #1, 4 of shape #6 (on point square) and 4 of shape #8
With Dark Blue cut out 4 of shape #8 and 16 of shape #5
sew the rectangles together like this (4)
and sew the small triangles around the #6 on point squares (4)
Then sew the block together like this
Block AA is also simple, it’s a snowball block and is #81 in the book on pages 97 and 208
with light blue cut out 1 of shape #1 and 4 of shape #3
with grey cut out 4 of #1 and 4 of #3
sew the large HSTs together (4)
and then sew the block together into a snowball (sorry about the out of focus picture!)
The woman on page 97 mentions farm kids how they enjoy nature and walking in the woods, swim in a pond etc…. we love going for walks, we can see cows next to our neighborhood- and horses, my 10yo did horse riding lessons down the road.
and while walking you never know what you might see? here were some bush hogs mowing the side grass by the cow pasture (I think the county does this!?)
