When I work with a fabric company, I often ask if they want to throw something small into the box for a give away on my blog and oh WOW! this is NOT small!! a FQ bundle of Applause

It’s SOOOO cute! it has little ballterinas and also some retro prints in it…makes me want to keep it, but I won’t Winking smile

Please enter the giveaway below and answer if you’ve ever done ballet or any other sort of dance on stage or theater? –in front of an audience?

I’ll go first: In Denmark, I dance Danish folk dance for 12yrs, pretty much until I moved to the US. I’ve also done amateur theater one summer (I opened up the whole show by singing SOLO! yikes) oh, and in high school I played Cinderella, and everything went WRONG with this play! the evil stepmom got sick the day before, so our male drama teacher had to step in and play her role, just imagine hairy legs in a pleated skirt! it ended up being a comedy!! In the US, I did clogging because Solveig was doing tap/ballet and parents could do a class for half price! so I did it Smile

anyways, here’s the giveaway! (due to it being so big I have to limit to US only!)

a Rafflecopter giveaway

while working on secret projects I’ve been working on rainbow blocks too, I decided to make another set and now I’m making 2 of each color.

Using the 8” QUBE set, shapes #4 and #5 I had the geese out of the color of the month and the background is a white PRINT!- I seem to always ignore these prints, but often use white on white but never the prints

Oh and I had a DUH –stupid blonde moment the other day.

While working on the secret project I really needed white thread and I had this big cone of white, but didn’t like using it because it would get stuck on the top of my machine on the little spool holder, then I figured I’d come up with something and I looked at found the white “caps” or what I thought were caps for the spools when they are horizontal in the machine, I put a cap on the holder and VOILA! it was a nice thread stand!!

well I guess you CAN teach old quilters new tricks… (I’m not THAT old) ha ha

  1. The only public performance I have ever done was to be part of a drill team that danced at halftime in high school. I cannot imagine that I would ever go solo.

  2. When I was in middle school I participated in the opening ceremony for the Special Olympics. It was televised. I remember Whitney Houston was there. Other than that, I haven't done anything… I'm a bit of an introvert!

  3. Linda Williamson

I did one play when I was very young and then my shyness took over and I never did another. Although your Cinderella didn't go as planned, people probably remembered it. Thanks for the giveaway. grinnie1961 at gmail dot com

  4. I've be a worship leader for some time.Playing and singing to all.Never did a play.Hate off to those that do.Thanks for the five away.

  5. Your pink owl fabric is adorable! Those rainbow blocks look fun and easy. It is always nice to run two projects through the machine at once to keep us excited about sewing.I took tap and ballet as a kid. I was not limber at all – couldn't even touch my toes, so I stuck with tap only after that. I was a cheerleader in high school and LOVED it! I would count that as performing.I also did a couple of plays in high school without any major roles. I did Patty Simcox in Grease. She was the stuck up cheerleader. I also won my Sterling Scholar category in Speech and Drama for my solo performance of Mayella Ewell from To Kill a Mockingbird. I walked into my interview as her, left screaming, and returned for the interview. It was kind of scary but paid my way through college because I won the scholarship.

  6. Susan McCormick

I’ve never been in a play or dance recitals – thanks for the opportunity to win this fat quarter bundle 🙂

  7. Shasta Matova

Oh no. I am too shy to do anything on a stage. I think I would be too shy even if there wasn't a single person in the audience, and just a stage!

  8. I am kinda shy about doing anything in front of others. But I took Latin in High School and we did a play all in Latin. The only way I could get through it was by pretending no one was there. Thanks so much for the giveaway.

I love Owls too! So pretty! I have never done any kind of dancing or been on stage! Thank you for a wonderful giveaway Susan

  10. In the 60's (yes I do "remember the 60's) I danced with a hula troop in Hawaii for the ships and planes coming in….

  11. I sang in my junior high school choir. Took some dance lessons (cotillion) in my younger days. Had to wear fancy dresses and gloves. Ugh! Dancing With The Stars is my favorite show.

  12. I have not but I have directed and I have made a lot, I mean a lot of costumes. Yes we Moms are busy. Jmikebalou (at) aol (dot) com

  13. Oh my goodness! No! LOL I'd be like a bull in a china shop, but I do love watching ballet and dancing. One of our very good friends who's like a daughter, won talent at Miss America performing ballet. She was awesome!

  14. barbara woods

no but my grand daughter was in drama in high school and is studying it in college

  15. I remember doing ballet for a while when I was probably 8 or so, it didn't last long, the teacher told me that I wasn't skinny enough for a ballerina, I wasn't even overweight just very tall for my age. I did enjoy it for the short time I did it though.

  16. I did ballet and tap when I was a kid. I remember dancing at the LA county fair on stage. Also was in school musicals in high school. Thanks for sharing the awesome giveaway!

  17. Vroomans' Quilts

I took tap as a youngster during the Shirley Temple craze – and yes, had to perform which I hated. As a teen I was on a State square dancing team that traveled for competitions.

  18. I took dance lessons when I was about 5 or 6 and danced in a recital. One session was enough to know that I was not a dancer! My sisters and I played dress-up with the costumes from the recital for years though, so not a total waste.

  19. many, many years ago i did folk dancing with my church group; it was strenuous and lots of fun.

  20. No I have not done anything on a stage in front of people and I don't care to!! My daughter took dance lessons for 3 years and loved it.

  21. In high school I was in choir and we performed at our school's Christmas shows.

  22. Sharon Aurora

I've never done ballet, but I have done belly dancing on stage several times. It was fun, but that was a long time ago.

  23. No..I never did ballet 0r dance in any public place. Tho did a little program on stage when in 1st grade…we didn't dance tho..just walked. I was a flower! giggle…Thank you for chance to win your Give-a-way too!! The Bundle looks fun..and I have a Grangirlie that would loooove a surprise made with it! 🙂

  24. Sang in choir and worked behind the scenes in high school. No way would I be in the spotlight. :)craftyccain@gmail.com

  25. Carol Andrews

I love this line from Michael Miller. No, I have never done the stage show performing thing. I was always too shy in school. As an adult, all I have ever done publicly is public speaking and being interviewed on tv or radio.

  26. No stage stuff, closet thing would be leading worship at camp and I'm not that good of a singer lol

  27. I took tap dancing lessons but only had to perform for the final in front of the class. When I was in grade school we always did plays and music performances at Christmas and I really enjoyed that. Also at church there were Christmas and Easter pageants that I participated in sometimes with a speaking part.

  28. I took ballet when I was 5 and that was it for my dancing! Another way to use those bigger threads if they don’t fit on the spool holder is to put it in a heavy mug at the back of your sewing machine.

  29. I’ve never been on stage myself, but I sewed the ballet costumes for my daughter’s ballet class recitals each of the 12 years she danced.

  30. OK — you are going to laugh at this. When we were in our 40's, we took up ballroom dancing. In our 50's we twice demonstrated South American dances for Spanish classes at the high school where my husband taught. Nancy A: rangerer@sbcglobal.net

  31. No never performed any dance on stage, but give me a dance floor and I'll dance for you.

  32. I never had a chance to dance on stage but did a lot in the barn when no one was watching!

  33. I have never been the dancer, just the person playing the music for the dancers.

  34. I never had dance or performed on a stage. I was raised on the farm and the only dancing we did was to get the animals fed, stalls cleaned and Hay or Straw baled! Pickle pickin' was in the works, too!

  35. I was in Color Guard in High School. Always was in Choir. I did some theater as well. Vividly remember being in the Snow Queen =} I had such anxiety in front of crowds! Thank you!

  36. Pamela Arbour

I quit ballet at the ripe old age of 5! LOL I hated it. I was just not graceful. Never have been!

  37. Cheryl's Teapots2Quilting

What cute owls and hedgehogs! I took tap, ballet and jazz when I was young. We had dance recitals. My mother even got professional pictures of me in my costumes one year. I loved to play dress up in my costumes after the recitals. I was in the musical 'Sound of Music' when I was in 3rd grade. We did a little dance like number in it.

  38. Never danced though I wanted to do ballet. My mother told me my legs were too short, though I don’t think we could afford it. Did sing in Glee Club and choir at church. Love the owl fabric!

  39. I don't remember ever performing on stage, but on Thursday we went to a performance of my 10 year old granddaughter's drama club. It was really cute! (BTW, I have a NJ mailing address.)

  40. Anita Jackson @ Domestic Felicity

My public performances were all high school theater. Drama club…. Annie Get Your Gun, Arsenic & Old Lace, Lots of others. Lots of fun!
