Today’s post is about the triangle in a square block.
If you follow me regularly you’ll know what I’m participating in the RSC16 Challenge and came up with this block and quilt layout using my GO cutter and die.
This was my main idea in EQ but you’ll notice that I flipped the triangles in the blocks.
First let’s design the block(s)
I started with a 2×2 grid or a 4 patch
Then using the line tool I drew a line from the middle and up to the half way point of the top right square.
(with a 6” block it was at the 4 1/2” mark)
and then finish the triangle and do the same in the other quadrants
then color it and add to sketchbook
Now if you want to create my block just start with the 4 patch again and start at the middle top and go down to the mid point on the middle right line
and finish the block and color it
then add it into a layout and here’s a copy of the blocks I already made
here’s other layouts I’ve created in EQ with this block
Hope you try to make this block and maybe you have the GO die or a special ruler to create these blocks!
Great tutorial Bea, that is one of my favorite blocks!
