EQ7 Tutorial Tuesday–blocks in borders

beaquiltersEQ7tutorialtuesday

Last week I got an email from Electric Quilt about the Dear Jane CD set being on sale, I’ve always admired it and I’m tempted to get it as I love QALs and BOMs etc.

I was looking at the border and wondered how they did the blocks in the triangles and then I started playing around in EQ and it’s actually EASY!!

Here’s a basic quilt layout that’s 5×6 blocks

and on the border I chose POINTS OUT and then did 5 x 6 as well

The dear Jane set has some pretty complicated blocks and border blocks but any of them work on the border!

I added a bunch of complex blocks and also some from the two patch section that’s sort of “half” blocks

here I inserted them into the border triangles

Then you  can print foundation pieces and it removes the hidden half of the block in the print out

You have to click the options tab before printing and even though it says the size it just helps with the printing, you can then flip the numbers if you want

this one is 4×3

and this is 3×4”

It's awesome to go to see this website and reading the views of all mates about this piece of writing, while I am also zealous of getting know-how. craigslist okc
