EQ Tutorial Tuesday–Layout library

Have you ever played with the EQ Layout Library?

I just recently “found” it

It’s under Libraries and Layout Library

Then you’ll see LOTS of fun layouts

I chose this STARS1 one under Blocks by style and STARS

then added to sketchbook

Under Irregular grids, I chose #7, add to sketchbook too

“Do you EQ’s current challenge is NY Beauties- funny, that last month’s challenge my quilts used those blocks!

Under BLOCKS, select FOUNDATION pieced and there’s a section called NY Beauties

Pick a few that you like, or really just ONE you really like. – add to sketchbook

Now go to the sketchbook and find the layouts under QUILTS

Now the FUN part!

Pick your NY Beauty block and hold down CTRL and click on the quilt to fill it all up like this

Now go back and rotate the blocks around, I usually start at the center and work my way out.

here’s my layout – I did remove the borders

You know I love BLUE

How about the STAR layout

I filled that one too with the same block

a BIG mess, but just wait until you rotate the blocks!

Here’s one way!

Now want to make your own layout?

Pick some simple blocks and add to sketchbook

Pick some SIMPLE blocks!

Click Quilt / create quilt from quilt block

and this pops up

You can then change the size and add to sketchbook

So a block like this

turns into a layout like this

and a quilt like this!
