EQ Tutorial Thirties Club EQ Challenge

beaquiltersEQ7tutorialtuesday

This month’s Club EQ Challenge is to design something with thirties prints

and it’s EASY to find fabrics for that already in the EQ library.

If you look in the fabric library under 36 Antique is Thirties prints

click on fabric and hold down CTRL and A and click the add the sketchbook, to add them 🙂

I looked online for typical thirties quilt designs and found a lot of inspiration

I love sunbonnet sue, as you can tell by a recent tutorial 🙂

So I found some in the sketchbook too

and added her to the quilt

Then I added some sashing by going to the layout tab

I had to decide if I wanted the sash border or not

I like the sashing on the border.

I also added a 4” border and changed the layout to a 4 x 5 layout

Now is the fun part of coloring the layout

I zoomed in with the magnifying glass

Here’s the whole layout

Then I added a vine border (I’ve shown a tutorial about auto borders recently)

Your Sunbonnet Sue looks so sweet in 30's prints. Off to vote for you. Couldn't click thru via BlogLuvin, so made a direct visit to your blog to get the link. Good luck. I've been trying to vote daily.QuiltShopGalwww.quiltshopgal.com
